Blog 32: Women's History, Demi + Cheri, and Broadway's 'Suffs'

BLOG 32:

Not your average Monday in Manhattan…

The National Women’s History Museum was in town, and we (Revel Rouge) were called upon to curate the elegance necessary for their special evening. It was most important to us to create a feeling that matched the significance of the fundraiser. It’s time we bring our heroic women to light.

National Women’s History Museum or NWHM educates, inspires, and shapes the future by integrating women's distinctive history into American culture & history.

Hosted by philanthropist, entrepreneur, and NWHM NY Chair Cheri Kaufman, and actress, producer, and New York Times bestselling author Demi Moore, this star studded event took place in the apartment of world-renowned interior designer Kelly Stuart Graham. Revel celebrated the challenge of transforming the stunning and unique rooms into what is now the talk of the town.

The night created a mountain of buzz. It’s gone viral. Check out the People article here, this coverage by Extra, or a captivating speech from the Q&A with Demi, who absolutely lit up the room with her radiance and humanity. All for an event so purposeful—NWHM president and CEO, Frédérique Campagne Irwin, described how for roughly 30 years the organization has shared the stories of women, helping in part to close the gender pay gap—, we had to execute.

The dining room, with exquisite food by frequent collaborator Acquolina Catering, was sleek, candlelit, and accented gorgeously by bouquets of white roses, peonies, and the whimsical touch of the allium ophioscorodon (onion stem) in blue spray paint by Posy Flowers NYC. Revel knows it’s all in the details.

In the bar and lounge areas, Revel crafted unforgettable atmospheres that enhanced the singularity of the spaces and enchanted the beautiful people in them. Dessert was not at the main table, that would be too norm. Instead, guests strolled into the living room for “songs and sweets”—live jazz piano by Matt Dorland, absurdly delicious Cookies by Eva and chocolates by MarieBelle Chocolates.

The stars were out for this Revel-curated event, with unbelievable performances by Nikki James and Chessa Metz of the Tony award-winning Broadway musical Suffs. The illustrious creator of New York Fashion Week, Fern Mallis, and the writer of Sex and the City, Candace Bushnell, joined too, among other noteworthy personalities. See more guest images here!

Revel and all partnered vendors pulled out all the stops for the National Women’s History Museum, as we do for every client. The night will be remembered forever, in all its grace.
